5 Easy DIY Halloween Decorations For Your Chicago Apartment
Two weeks from today, Chicago will be overrun with zombies, ghosts and skeletons. It’s hard to believe that Halloween is here already, but there’s still plenty of time to decorate. Ready to deck out your Chicago apartment with some easy decorations made from everyday, household items? Check out our round-up of Halloween crafts:
This is the perfect craft for passionate recyclers, who happen to have eight empty milk jugs saved up. Creating a milk jug skeleton takes moderate crafting skills and patience, but if stored correctly, it can be used for many years of Halloween decorating.
Even the most novice crafters can handle making these simple yarn pumpkins. Each one takes less than five minutes and stringing them together with twine delivers a charming effect.
For those that find pumpkin carving to be a long, demanding process, these jack-o-lanterns made with oranges are a cute solution. Cutting the fruit out of an orange peel is a lot easier than scooping out pumpkin innards. In the time it takes to carve a normal jack-o-lantern, you could make a whole tray of these!
Another easy task that yields adorable results. Simply carve out one slice of a clementine or orange, and insert plastic fangs. Add some pins or draw on eyes, then make another!
Remember when Pinterest taught us how to melt crayons with a hair dryer? Take that idea a step further with this fantastic craft for spooky candle votives. This unique craft is sure to impress guests, but does not require much time or artistic skill.
